Welcome to Norman Educational Center "NECC". This building was once the old Norman High School. It now houses a museum, one-room school, genealogy & family history library, and a large auditorium open to community events. Each year on the 4th Saturday of June the building is open for a membership meeting and a school reunion. Attendance varies between 150-400 former students.
The building is still undergoing renovation. Most of the rooms are complete, however, we still do not have restrooms, nor heat and air in the main portion of the building. Therefore we close the building for the winter months, from November 15th to April 1st. It is still maintained and we are open by appointment.
We have raised almost $300,000 for the renovation, and nearly all of it has come from former students. We have had NO grants. Donations and small fundraisers account for the money raised. We do charge a $30 membership fee if you want to support the renovation and receive the newsletters and magazines NHPP, Inc. publishes. See our MEMBERSHIP page for information.
