Mr. and Mrs. Ollie McKenney of Hot Springs visited her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Standridge, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Brunt of Magnolia spent the Labor Day week end visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jurdon Hays and David and Mrs. and Mrs. Dave Brunt, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. George A. Duke of Memphis, Tenn, spent the weekend visiting his mother, Mrs. Anna Mae Duke and other relatives and friends. The Dukes’ recently moved to Memphis from Arkadelphia where George will be teaching and Nancy going to school.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Shaw of Norman moved in our community last week. They moved in the C. E. Alexander rent house formerly occupied by the Emery Pullens.
Week end visitors in the C.E. Alexander home were M. and Mrs. Bill Fikes of Hot Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Margo and Mrs. Evelyn Dyer of Little Rock; and Mr. and Mrs. George A. Duke of Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. and Mrs. Leon Sloan and children of Memphis, Tenn., visited her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Troy Cowart and children over the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Cleburne Lewis and children visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burk Lewis of near Mena, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Dickie Fryar of Magnolia visited her mother Mrs. Marchean Pearson and children over the weekend.
Mrs. Margaret Brunt spent the weekend in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Visitors in the Joe Hays home over the weekend were: Mr. and Mrs. Dean Morphew and children and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hays and children of Texarkana, and Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Wallace and girls of Story.
There was an error in last week’s paper about the Black Springs singing. They had a singing at Norman but it wasn’t the Black Springs sisnging. The Black Springs Church voted to have singing here at the church on Saturday night before the first Saturday in the month and we will still have singing here on that date. Everyone is invited to come. The Church certainly did not vote for it to go to Norman.
Everyone remember that Youth Rally will be at Murphy Baptist Church next Thursday night.
