Mt Gilead
Mt. Gilead is one of the older larger cemeteries in the county. It is said that there are sixteen graves which are now in the road, or near the road, of black slaves who helped to settle, clear and establish the community. The Mt. Gilead church is the oldest church organization in Montgomery county. The actual building, has been replaced several times. There is also said to be several Civil War soldiers buried here in unmarked graves.
