MENA TORNADO

busThe residential areas on Church and Hickory were especially hard hit, but it is difficult to say they were worse than others, as so much of the area was hit.  Check out the MAPS to see the path of the storm.  It was really a straight line, but traveling the roads in a car it is hard to see that.

The middle of the storm  came right down Church St., which seems to have gotten the worst of it, but with winds of more than 135 miles per hour, there wasn't anything that got by without damage, at least on the north side of the tracks.

Above is a photo of the senior bus at RMCC, which was picked up and moved, and deposited in a tree, breaking the tree. This was an almost new bus.  The college was hard hit,and I'm pretty sure it will be closed the rest of this year, or at least most of it.
