Heritage House Museum Of Montgomery Co.: The museum, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of Montgomery County, opened in 2000. The museum presents exhibits relating to the people, activities, sites and life in our county from the 1800s to 1975. An extensive collection of oral history tapes provide interviews with county residents sharing memories of the past. Local family genealogy is encouraged and reference materials are provided for researchers’ use. The dream of R. R. “Dick” Whittington, the museum is a credit to his vision and generosity as well as the dedication and involvement of its volunteers and contributing members.
The museum's displays change often, and some of these might have been in a transition when the photo was taken. The museum has expanded and now has a barn filled with displays. Go often and enjoy the many Montgomery County items.
